Well finally we are back in the master suite. I can't believe it's actually finished. It took almost a year to the day that we decided to get this done. Really once the plan was decided and our contractor was on board it took about 6 weeks. Why did it take so long well, well we wanted a high end bathroom designed by a designer etc. and went to a high end bathroom contractor. Well it was either retire comfortably or spend every last cent on a "high end" bathroom. Various things came to play in between but finally we decided on the high end look with a realistic budget. I am very happy with the results and and everyone that worked one the project did a fabulous job.
Here are some before and after shots.
The main objective to the project besides new finishes was to remove the wall in this needless area of space between the closet and the bathroom.
We took out the wall and installed a pocket door to enclose the area.
And of course the lemon yellow fixtures HAD to go.
Now you can see the whole shower with the new 20 inch deep tub (instead of the 15 inch tub we had, you could get only 11 or so inches of water in it once you took the overflow drain into consideration).
I love the tile...and the clear glass door...
We also painted the master bedroom. Gone is the mediocre mauve and now we have this really striking red.
Yeah! And just let me say as nice as the pictures are they just don't show how fabulous this space really is.
